Mission and Goals
Mission:
NBA ECHO provides residential care and other supportive services to children in crisis and families in need.

Vision: NBA ECHO creates a loving, supportive environment and equips children and families with the tools necessary to lead productive and self-sufficient lives.

NBA ECHO’s goal is to continue to help children and their families realize dreams, achieve goals and become independent, optimistic and productive by providing appropriate residential care and educational services to help children lead better lives once they leave.  Reunification with family is a primary goal.  When that is not possible, NBA ECHO seeks the least restrictive environment for youth, whether it is placement with a relative or foster care.

Values:

  • We value and celebrate our Christian heritage.
  • We believe that children and their families should be treated with dignity and respect.
  • We believe that care and services should be provided in a holistic manner that addresses the spiritual, emotional, physical, educational, and social needs of children and their families.
  • We recognize the family as the primary focus for every child.
  • We believe it is important to furnish care and services with honesty, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
  • We strive to maintain financial stability while meeting the needs of those we serve and providing meaningful career opportunities for our employees.
  • We value advocacy efforts ensuring sufficient public funding for children/family services.

Funding
NBA ECHO receives 50% of its operating income from government reimbursements for treatment services. Fifty percent (50%) is provided through the United Way, individuals, corporations, foundations, churches, endowments, investment income and fund-raising events like the Lou Brock NBA ECHO Golf Classic and Men Making A Difference.

How a Child Comes to NBA ECHO
Youth are referred to NBA ECHO by the Children’s Division of Missouri, the Juvenile Courts of St. Louis County and City, other social service agencies and families in crisis.
